The LIFE Fitting Final Conference was held on 27th June at the main auditorium of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) in Lisbon.
Focused on monitoring and controlling micropollutants and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in urban wastewater, the event brought together around 120 participants both in person and via streaming. The main project’s output was presented by teams from LNEC, TRATAVE, and UCP. The event also featured a Round Table Discussion on “Monitoring & controlling micropollutants and antimicrobial resistance in WWTPs – Lessons learned, challenges and opportunities.”
The project’s strategies and outputs support the implementation of the new Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive regarding micropollutants and AMR. More broadly, they may contribute to the transition toward a smart-discharge-driven operation of WWTPs, promoting receiving water quality-based limits to better address climate change challenges.
